Aluminum sulfate, also known as white alum, is one of the second most used compounds in the world. Aluminum sulfate is soluble in water and does not dissolve in ethanol at all, and when it combines with water or absorbs water, its pH drops to less than 2.
The appearance of aluminum sulfate is in the form of solid and white crystals, and it has a pungent aroma due to its acidic properties. Aluminum sulfate is divided into two different types:
Type 1: It is in the form of white crystals and its iron concentration is less than 0.5.
The second type: it is in the form of brown crystals and its iron concentration is less than 1.5.
